Frequently Asked Questions

How much does ClassWallet cost?

ClassWallet is completely free for teachers and enterprise users.  An Enterprise Pro version is available for an annual subscription.  The best part is there’s no fee contribute funds into a ClassWallet, so the entire process is absolutely free for everyone involved.

What suppliers accept ClassWallet as form for payment?

ClassWallet is an end-to-end solution for funding, tracking and spending. You can collect funds from anyone. Once you have funds in your wallet, you can spend them at more than 40 of the nation’s top retailers including Amazon, Best Buy, Office Depot, Scholastic, McGraw Hill, and School Specialty. More vendors are accepting ClassWallet as a form of payment every week.

Why use ClassWallet instead of cash and checks?

There are other forms of payment you can use to buy goods for the class, but ClassWallet is the only product that allows contributions at 9AM and teachers can be shopping at 9:01AM. With cash and checks, you still have to save receipts and reconcile and fill out expense reports to be reimbursed. With ClassWallet, we track everything for you, so you never have to hang on to printed receipts again.

Do teachers have to tell my school or administration about signing up?

The answer to this question varies across schools and districts. The good news is that all money in and all money spent is 100% transparent and trackable… need a receipt to show how much your received and all your purchases, no problem. If you have concerns, we recommend you speak with the School Admin or have them give us a call so we can answer any questions they have (877-969-5536).

What if a teacher needs stuff from a store that doesn’t accept ClassWallet?

We have more than 250,000 items in our store, but sometimes you may need a special item that’s not available from one of our 40+ vendors. We are working on a solution that will enable teachers to be able to use a MasterCard to make purchases at vendors that don’t accept ClassWallet (yet). If this is a deal breaker, sign up (it’s free!) and stand by – we’ll be sending an email to everyone letting them know when the MasterCard option is available.

How are returns handled?  For example, if a teacher orders the wrong product and has to return it to the supplier.

ClassWallet works closely with all our suppliers.  When an item is returned, the supplier informs us and we credit the amount back into the teacher’s class wallet.

Is funding into class wallet tax deductible?

A contribution through ClassWallet has the same tax deduction status as a donation to the school. So…if donating to the school is tax deductible, then so is giving through ClassWallet.

Is there a minimum/limit to how much a person can contribute into my class wallet?

Nope. No minimum and the sky’s the limit.

Does all of the money deposited into the class wallet go to the teacher, or is there a percentage that goes to fees for using the site?

No fees. 100% to the teacher.

Once a teacher register, can folks immediately start contributing money into the class wallet?

Affirmative.  Immediately!
